Several times a month Andrii gets on a train and goes to war… It’s a trip to the frontline: Andrii carries to tankers and artillery a guidance system that he has designed by himself.

At the same time, it is a journey to the past. Andrii, an ordinary civilian guy back then, took part in Luhansk and Donetsk airports’ defense. He was badly injured, but his life is forever connected to the part of our country where he goes – to the east.

“To the East” is not only a trip to the past, it is a collective portrait of young contemporary Ukrainian army with its problems, achievements and belief in the future of Ukraine.
